For the first time EVER, we decided to not travel this Christmas and just spend it with our little family at home! My sister, Jenn, also came to help us celebrate! Although it feels like something is missing without family, it is still nice to celebrate it quietly, without the hustle and bustle of holiday travel and all that comes along with that!
We're going to finish off our nice little Christmas with a family dinner consisting of roast beef (made in our rotisserie), gravy, baked red potatoes, squash cassarole and (of course) crescent rolls. Andrew would be so sad if we had a holiday meal without the crescent rolls! Andrew will head to work for the night after dinner and Jenn & I will watch some Christmas movies. Can't beat that for a relaxing little Christmas!! In a few days, we're going to head to Wichita to spend New Years Eve with the entire Pohl family! Andrew's parents, all of his brothers, his grandmother, Rachel - our sister-in-law and Avery's three cousins will all be there!!!! Avery has NO IDEA how much fun she's about to have... her cousins are all females below the age of 10! I have a feeling that we won't see much of any of them!!!! She's going to be in heaven!!
Below are a few pictures of Christmas Eve and Christmas morning!
Avery opening her Christmas Eve present. She got a "Little People" SUV!

Avery & her Aunt "
Denn" (Jenn)

The Christmas tree after Santa visited...

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care....

A backyard view from our patio of ALL the snow we got. The wind was so strong last night that it even blew down a few of our patio chairs! It wasn't much but it sure shut Texas down!! Andrew didn't even have to go to work on Christmas Eve because of it so I'm not complaining! Who would've thought that we, of all people, would have a "white Christmas"?!?

Opening her stocking Christmas morning with daddy! Among her favorites were the kazoo and the Pez dispenser!

The dogs as they patiently await getting their stockings... They watched me stuff them Christmas Eve so they knew what they had in store for them!

Wilson with his bone that he later "buried" somewhere in the house and then tried to take Bowen's bone!

Bowen with his bone, looking at Wilson like "Back off... it's MINE!" He may be a teddy bear but not when it comes to HIS bone!!

Avery with her kazoo and new princess kitty slippers! She wouldn't take them off!

Avery taking a time out from festivities for some vacuuming (like mommy does)!

Although a very basic toy, she LOVES it so Santa had to get her one of her own! On a side note, the rings also double as
bracelets for her to wear around the house!

Avery playing with her new table & chairs set! So many fun filled days of coloring and tea parties will be held here! I'm sure she'll also figure out some dare devil activities that Andrew & I will not be too please about with this set. ;) However, I'd rather her do it on her table than ours... it's a much shorter distance for her to fall!

Watching her new fish movie while the "adults" play with Andrew's new
Wii Band Hero game!

Winding down a little from the busy morning by watching her favorite show, "Yo
Gabba Gabba" with her new
Gabba friends that Santa brought! She can name each of them! It's too funny!
