We went to Fort Collins to visit some friends this weekend and we all had a blast! Fort Collins is one of the coolest places, with so many fun things to do! The first day we were there, they had this HUGE festival where the whole downtown was closed off for concerts, vendors, rides, etc! Melissa Ethridge was supposed to play that night... It was definitely a very "Fort Collins" sort of festival but it was so fun to walk around, people watch and check things out! We went to lunch at a local brewery and sat out on their patio which was right next to a stage with a pretty good band. The lead singer sounded kind of like Bonnie Raitt. It started down pour raining so we had to leave the festival. Wouldn't you know it... it was perfectly sunny by the time we got back to our friend's house! That's Colorado for you! That night, we had a big bbq with 5 couples and all their kids. There was a 2 year old girl, a 3 year old girl, a 9 year old girl and an 11 year old boy. It was such a fun group of kids for Avery to play with. Avery had such a great time that she stayed up until 10pm! After the 9:30pm twirls, somersaults and running around the front yard, we decided we had to be mean parents and pull the plug on all the fun. :( That's the latest that she has EVER stayed up, by far! Today, we went to the COOLEST park that we've ever been to!! It was enormous and had the neatest toys and playground! They even had a huge toddler area with age appropriate toys so we could give Avery some freedom without worrying about her falling off the playground or hurting herself. This playground also had a fun little splash park. Avery loves anything water related so we couldn't keep her away. In the spirit of fun, we let her get soaking wet in her clothes and she had an absolute blast. After she was done, we changed into outfit #2 and she continued to play! We finished the day off at a bbq place for some smoked turkey, brisket and ribs. It was such a great weekend and Avery had a blast!
