We FINALLY had a beautiful day today... sunny and 70 degrees! It's been quite cold and rainy recently so we took full advantage of the opportunity! Jenn (my sister) was in town visiting too! Avery has been to the Colorado Springs zoo several times in the past but she was always just a little too young to fully understand everything. We've been looking forward to checking out the Fort Worth Zoo now that Avery's is finally old enough to know her zoo animals and really enjoy the experience! She was so mesmerized by every animal and really excited to see animals that she only sees in books! She just kept wanting to see "more! more!" Now that I'm 7.5 months pregnant, it was really nice that Jenn could come with us and help with all of the lifting and photo ops! Unfortunately, Andrew had to work today! :( But we are planning on taking Avery one more time before our second baby comes so that Andrew can enjoy the zoo experience with Avery before our life gets crazy! It was so fun for me to just watch Avery take in all of the animals with such excitement and amazement!
On top of seeing all of her favorite zoo animals, Avery also got to ride the carousel and take a train ride!! She also got to watch a lion roar! At first, she didn't quite know what to think but then she really thought it was very cool and roared with him! Another one of her favorite exhibits (not pictured) was a bird house with tons of various birds all flying around inside. Last Fall, Avery was a little overwhelmed with a similar bird exhibit in Colorado. However, this time, she was really into the birds flying right over her and even reached out for them when they flew a little too close. She probably could've spent all day in the bird house!
